Harvey & Company initiated the recapitalization and subsequently invested in ABUTEC, a leading niche manufacturer of emission control products serving various industry segments including oil & gas, landfill and wastewater treatment. ABUTEC, an acronym for Advanced Burner Technologies, specializes in offering high efficiency enclosed flares that reduce harmful emissions to meet regulatory standards in a developing North and South American market with other international opportunities. These regulatory emission standards typically affect the oil & gas, landfill and wastewater treatment segments on a state and federal level. ABUTEC is on the leading edge of addressing the evolving standards, and providing efficient solutions to customers.
ABUTEC was founded in 2007 by two experienced operators with over 30 years of combined experience in the flare industry and numerous patents for flare designs. As part of the transaction, the two founders will retain a significant equity stake, continue to lead the company, and gain a value-added, growth-oriented partner to help meet the challenges inherent to the next major growth phase.
