Harvey & Company initiated the acquisition and subsequent recapitalization of Mesker with a Philadelphia-based private equity group to create a platform for growth in the commercial building products industry. Prior to the acquisition, the management team had generated significant revenue and market share growth. The CEO will continue at the helm of the recapitalized entity, and will retain a significant ongoing equity position.
Founded in 1864, Mesker continues today as a leading manufacturer of proprietary metal security doors and frames. Mesker’s sister company, Design Hardware, imports hardware components and contributes to Mesker’s ability to offer an integrated platform to customers. The combination of U.S. door manufacturing and sourced hardware components in conjunction with regional product modification/distribution centers enables a national sales footprint for turnkey solutions with high levels of customization and customer service.
Mesker is an attractive, well positioned investment platform that has demonstrated significant growth in a large, but fragmented market. We will seek strategic add-on acquisitions that will bring additional customers, product capabilities, and cost synergies to the platform.
